Wonderful News

We have some wonderful news! Nicholas and I are going to be Big Brothers! Mommy is actually 14 weeks along today. She already has her 20 week ultrasound appointment scheduled in Jan! We are all very excited! I think it is going to be a girl and Nicholas thinks it is going to be a boy. We were thinking about names last night, but we don't want to share yet, since we aren't sure what we are having. Mommy has been getting a lot of pressure from everyone to see if we are going to find out at the ultrasound if we are having a boy or girl. She really hasn't made up her mind yet. If you ask Daddy, he of course wants to find out. He even told Mommy that we could find out but not tell everyone else. That way they could still try to guess what we are having. Mommy is not sure if that would work. Daddy is not very good at keeping secrets! :) We still love him! Below is a picture of the pregnancy test. Mommy was so excited when it finally turned out positive! Our due date is May 13th 2008.

Arrowwood Resort, Alexandria Minnesota

The weekend of Deer Opener we all went up to Alexandria, MN to spend the weekend at the Arrowwood Resort while Daddy Deer hunted. They have an indoor waterpark and they boys had SO much fun! As soon as we got there Daddy, Grandma and Papa took the boys swimming while I took a little nap. They had so much fun when they got back they couldn't stop talking about it. If we didn't have dinner plans at Uncle Larry's house they would have been there until closing time! After they got ready for dinner we drove over to Uncle Larry's house. Aunt Kathy made Lasagna with bread. It was so yummy! Our cousins Tommy, age 3 and Elizabeth, age 1 were there as well, so we got to play with them in Uncle Larry's playroom he finished downstairs for them. Uncle Larry is Tommy and Elizabeth's Grandpa. We had a lot of fun playing down there! After dinner we went back to the hotel room without Daddy since he was leaving early in the morning to hunt for deer. We all went to bed to rest for the next day. We knew it was going to be a long busy day!

The next morning we ordered room service for breakfast. Mommy loved her breakfast croissant. Jon order French Toast sticks and Nicholas ordered pancakes. They were yummy too but they didn't finish it all. As soon as breakfast was done we waited, and waited until the waterpark was open. We all thought it opened at 10am but since Jon was asking what time it was every 5 minutes, I decided to walk him over there to show him it wasn't open. Our room was actually really close by so it wasn't a big deal. It was probably 8:30 at the time and when we got there it was closed so he stopped talking about it. On our way back to the room there was a lifeguard there and I double checked with her that it opened at 10am and she told us 9am! So I told Jon we only had to wait a half hour and we could go swimming! He was so excited! So when we got back to the room I told them to get their swim trunks on so we would be ready when Papa and Grandma got back from their walk. Shortly after that they came back and said that the other little pool was open, but I told them the waterpark opened at 9am. So we all started to get ready. It was finally 9am and we walked over to the park. below are some picks of the boys going down the kiddy slides. Although Grandma considered them big slides. She actually went down the curvy one a a lot with the boys.

We took a break for lunch and so I could take a nap, and hopefully the boys. That didn't really last long. Jon wanted to go back to the waterpark but I told him not until after dinner we could go back. Well, he just kept on asking and by 4 O'clock Grandma was tired of him asking and she said that her and Papa would go back in the water with them. So we all went back to the waterpark again! I didn't go swimming this time and I appreciated that Papa and Grandma were there because they didn't mind going in the water with them and watching them. I on the other hand had enough water for the day. Thanks Papa and Grandma! Daddy called later in the day to see how things were. There were times when the boys were driving me crazy but everything was fine. Him and Uncle Larry were the only two that shot deer at that time. I could tell he was tired too. We swam for another couple hours or so and finally got the boys out of the water. We had dinner and the boys crashed on the sofa bed! They were SO tired!
Mike actually ended up coming back to the hotel that night so he could go swimming with the boys in the morning. The next morning before we left Mike took the boys to the waterpark again! This time Jon went down the big slides all by himself! Of course I didn't bring my camera because we packed the truck before we left the room. Any way, I had noticed the day before that some of the kids had lifevest on that were free to use and I told him about it and he wanted to try it going down the big slides. Nicholas and I waited for him and Dad to come out at the end. Jon LOVED it! Daddy, not so much. He said the whole slide was enclosed so one time was enough for him. Jon went down them another 10 times or so. He loved it! They would take breaks and go down the lazy river or play in the kiddy pool again. Jon made sure that before we left he would go down the big slides again. So, he went down them again, about 10 more times! I was so glad he wasn't scared to do it all by himself! We had a great time at Arrowwood!

Halloween 2007

Every Halloween all the cousins get together so they can Trick or Treat together. This year we went to uncle Paul and Auntie Tesa's house. We had dinner, the pizza was yummy! Thanks Auntie Melina and Uncle Jon for placing the order! Than after dinner all the kids got dressed up. Before we went out to Trick or Treat we had to take pictures. Here are some pictures that Mike took. Good job Dad! They had a lot of fun Trick or Treating! They went around the whole neighborhood and there was no complaining and everyone walked on their own. At first it was a little tough getting them to line up at each house, but eventually they all got it and realized it was easier to do it that way. So much fun! Can't wait until next year!

The cousins all dressed up! Front Row: L to R: Maria as Gabriella, Evie as Princess Evie, Bella as a Kitty Cat, Gen Gen as a Princess. Back Row: L to R: Jon as Optimus Prime, Eddie as Spiderman, Anthony as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Noah as an Army Dude, Nicholas as Spiderman 3.

Nicholas' Preschool Halloween Party

On Tuesday Oct 30th, Nicholas' preschool had their Halloween party. I was able to volunteer that day and I actually remembered to bring my camera! I forgot to bring it for Jon's party which was the next day :( They had tons of activities for the kids to do from decorating their treat bag, to making a spider, & decorating their own mini pumpkins! Nicholas had a lot of fun. Below are some pics from the day. Enjoy!

A Visit To Buffalo

Last Sunday we went to visit Papa and Grandma in Buffalo. We spent the whole day there! We had brunch and than we went to their town's Apple Farm. Uncle Doug, Auntie Christine and Ashley joined us as well. It was pretty cold out so we didn't really get to stay long. We got to feed some of the animals and play around a little bit. We were going to go on the wagon ride to pick out pumpkins but it was too cold. Here are some pics from the apple farm.

After the farm we ended up going back to Papa and Grandma's house. On the way back we stopped at a little market and picked up some pumpkins. Mom, Jon and Nicholas all carved our pumpkins when we got to their house. Than Papa and Grandma wanted pictures of us in our Halloween costumes so we got dressed up. Here are some pictures below of us in our costumes.

Can you tell who is who? Nicholas is Spiderman 3 and Jon is Optimus Prime.

Red Hair

When Jon got home from school today he wanted to decorate the house for Halloween. We went downstairs and got the Halloween bin and when we opened it there was a can of red hair coloring in the bin. I think it was left from their cousin Maria last year. She was the Little Mermaid and had the red hair. Well the boys wanted to try it so I sprayed their hair! They say it looks cool! I told them they would have to take a shower tonight but could wait until Daddy got home so he could see. Below are a couple pics of their hair.

Getting Back To The Swing Of Things

Well, our trip to Vegas was fun. We left early last Monday morning and finally came home Thursday evening. Normally when mike and I go to Vegas we go to bed at a decent time. Well going with our friends the Larson's, we ended up staying up until 1 am (3am MN time), and the second night until 3am (5am MN time)! Let me just tell you, that I am still trying to catch up on my sleep! We actually did pretty well gambling. If we would have left a day earlier we would have been up or even. But of course we had one more full day and that day was not a lucky for us. At least we came home with some money and didn't lose all of it. The first day we of course sat down and played Three Card Poker. I ended up getting triple 7's and that was fun. I had only seen a pair of 7's and tucked it under, so it was a surprise when she turned the 3rd one over. Other than that, we didn't have a lot of luck with that game. Our luckiest game we played this trip was Craps. We had a lot of fun and played for a long time. We actually ended up going to Downtown Vegas every night since it was cheaper to gamble there instead of on the strip. I saw my Tita Tess (my mom's oldest brother's wife). It was great seeing her. The last time the family saw her was in 2000 for my sister Marie's wedding in Vegas. She started crying when she saw me. I don't think she was expecting me but I made sure that I knew what Casino she was working at this time so I could say hi. I told me mom she needs to plan a trip out there so she can visit with her. She misses all of us a lot.

While we were gone, Nicholas stayed with Papa and Grandma in Buffalo. He had a great time playing with them and his cousin Ashley. Apparently she has been asking where Nicholas is. Jon stayed home with Lolo and Lola because we didn't want him to miss school. My parent's said he was a good boy all week. He ended up picking us up from the airport with Lolo and Lola. The first thing he asked me was if we had gifts for him. We couldn't find anything that they didn't have already from Vegas so we didn't get them anything. But Daddy promised to take them shopping here. Lets see if Jon remembers.

Well, that's it for now. Stay tuned for more updates!
