Crushed Limestone Is Delivered!

Yesterday afternoon we had 12 tons of crushed limestone delivered to our house. We thought we could just have it cover half the driveway so Lola could still park her car but when the guy dumped it out it covered the whole drive way! Mike had gotten the 4 wheeler from Paul's house and bought a trailer for it to haul the dirt to the backyard. He put it together so it was ready when the dirt arrived. He made two trips to the back and on the 3rd trip he filled it up a little too much and the trailer broke. It was a HUGE bummer! They had to resort to wheel barrels! Our neighbor Shawn helped and the kids got to even help out. They LOVED playing in the sand! Even Anna's brother Jack came over to help for a little bit. They heard we were building a batting cage so I'm sure he came to help so he could use it! :-) We had to stop around 4:30 so we could get ready for Nicholas' T-ball game. But when we got back our other neighbor Rob was filling up his wheel barrel and moving dirt so we all got out of the truck and went back to work. We were able to cover the whole area with one layer and than Mike is going to rent a machine to tap it all down. We will than put another layer of dirt on it today. It looks pretty good! Plus we have another beautiful day to work outside! Here are a few pics!

The kids helping out with the dirt pile! It was HUGE!

They liked to be at the top!

Picture of the batting cage area with the first layer.

After picture of the pile of dirt.

Checked UPS and the cage and pitching machine is in Eagan! I called to see if we could go pick it up and we couldn't. They are not open. :-( We will have to wait until Monday...Stay tuned for finished pics!

Batting Cage Prep Work

Over the Holiday Weekend we got approval from the Association to put in our Batting Cage! YEAH! Mike was really excited and ordered the cage AND a pitching machine. Even though he told me he wanted to discuss it with me (we didn't have the discussion) he just decided to buy it on his own. LOL! So Lolo and him started to outline the area with garden timbers and digging a trench for them. The next day Papa and Grandma came out to help. They got it all done and now we are waiting on the cage and Mike still has to buy the materials to build the cage for the netting. Here are a couple pics of the area. Hopefully next weekend it will all be done and ready for use!

Notice it is only the older men working on the area! Mike was returning the Sod Cutter.

Jon decided he wanted to help.

Rolling up the Sod.

Placing it in a pile to be placed in another part of our yard. He was such a hard worker!

Stay tuned for more pics!

Marisa is walking!

These last few days Marisa has been walking around like a mad woman! She has figured out how to stand up on her own and than she just starts to take off! So far so good with no major falls or bumps on the head! But now she is starting to climb up the stairs! We may have to buy a gate soon!

Today was also her first full day with no bottle! YEAH! I put all the bottles away this morning and she drank out of her sippy cup with whole milk all day! I didn't think we could do it so soon after her 1st birthday since she loves her drinks warm! But we did it! NO MORE BOTTLES! I am such a happy Mommy! Her first year exam is in the 1st week of June so stay tuned for her stats!

Nicholas' Preschool Graduation

On Monday, May 11th, we celebrated Nicholas graduating from Preschool. They had a program at his school and a ceremony. It was SO cute! Nicholas did SO good during the program. He sang every song and did all the actions with the songs too. Jonathan wasn't much of a performer so it was good to see Nicholas enjoying himself! His class all got to do a little part in the program by holding up a month and saying, "This is what we sang in January!" That was Nicholas' month. So they sang 9 songs and than they had the graduation ceremony. After the ceremony we all went outside for some cookies and drinks. It was a great night out so we hung out for a little bit and than went home. Congratulations my Little Kindergartner! I can't believe he will be going to Lake Elmo in September! He is SO Ready for Kindergarten!

Jon had Ms. Terri when he went to Lutheran Church of Peace Preschool. I am going to miss them! Although I do only have to wait 2 more years until Marisa gets to go! Thank you LCPP! We will miss you! Can't wait to see you again in a couple years!

Marisa's 1st Birthday!

On Saturday, May 9th we celebrated Marisa's 1st Birthday! It has already been a year and it feels like she has been with us so much longer! She has grown SO big within a year, and I can't wait to see how much bigger she will get. The time has gone by SO fast that I haven't even made her 1 year appointment with the doctor yet! Here are a few things that she is doing: She is starting to walk on her own. She walks from the Ottoman to the chair back to the couch and so forth. She only wants to hold one hand when she is walking with you. She is still a good sleeper. She likes to dance and watch Hi-5. Sometimes if you ask her to sing she will. One of these days I have to get that on video! She is still drinking 3 bottles a day. I am starting to introduce the sippy cup with milk in it for her lunch, but she is not interested right now. I really can't remember how I got the boys off the bottle so fast. I do know that the boys were pretty much off the bottle at 1 year, but they both drank their bottle at room temperature and Marisa needs hers warm. Maybe that is why....Any way, here are a bunch of pictures from her big day!

The boys messing around while we are waiting for our guest to arrive.

Such hams!
