Jon's Picture Day @ School

Yesterday was Picture Day at Jon's school. I bought both the boys these Rugby shirts at Children's Place on sale for their Picture day. They were clearing out their store for the new holiday line. Jon was so cute, I asked him how he wanted to style his hair and he wanted it spiked so I did it and it was too long so I flattened the back and kept the front messy and he seemed to like it. Hopefully he smiled pretty for his pictures!

The Boys Pumpkin T-Shirts

Here is the finished project of the Boys T-Shirts! Mike still has to finish doing the pumpkin faces on his shirt, but mine is done too! I just wasn't in the picture! :) They turned out great! Nicholas wanted the same face as I did on my shirt and Jon picked out his face from the pictures in the magazine. They both painted in the faces after I drew them on. I told Nick to stay in the lines and to not go over them and he didn't! I finished painting his for him (there was some space that I needed to fill) since he didn't dare get too close to the lines! Jon wants to do it again sometime and we probably will do it again because it was so fun! Maybe we will do a multicolored one next!

Mommy Will Be Busy!

So I decided to start knitting again. Bev had come over a few weeks ago and was knitting Jon an afghan and it got me to finish a scarf that I started for Mike 7 years ago! Yup! 7 years ago! It took me a little bit to get going again and I was doing it the wrong way at first but I did end up finishing it. Only problem was that it is now the wrong color! It doesn't match his current winter jacket anymore....So I decided that I was going to make him a new one and the boys one. Bev and Ed came down to watch Jon play soccer again yesterday and they hung out with us for the day. Bev told me to go to a website where I could get free knitting patterns and I was able to find some patterns that the boys and Mike liked. After Jon's game she came with me to Michael's because they were having a sale on yarn and helped me pick them out. We also bought some T-shirts orange fabric die and black fabric paint. I showed the boys a project out of my Family Fun Magazine and they wanted to do that too! Any way, I started Nicholas' last night and hopefully it will not take me long to make them. Below are some pictures of the patterns.

Nicholas' Scarf - he picked the colors red and green. It will look like a X-mas scarf but it will look cute!

Mike's Scarf. I hope to make the beanie too! - We couldn't find black and grey in the yarn type so I switched it up and bought a different one. Hopefully it will work out!

Jon's scarf. - He picked black

I will hopefully make this one for myself. I will most likely pick one color, but we will see! I haven't bought the yarn yet.

Here are the T-shirts we are making. But I just made a sunburst pattern instead of little circles all over. We are going to draw the pumpkin faces on today! I will post a picture when we are all done.

Movies of Marisa

Here are a couple movies of Marisa. This one we had a bon fire on our deck this weekend and Marisa hung out in the Jumperoo. She had fun hanging out outside with us.

This one I taped tonight. She was rolling over from her back to her belly and back onto her back! She has been rolling from her back to her belly for a few days now, but tonight was the first time she rolled from her belly to her back! What a good girl!

Aamodt's Apple Farm

So this Sunday we went to Aamodt's Apple Farm in Stillwater with Auntie Missy, Noah and Gen. We usually go there at least once a year in the Fall for their Honey Crisp Apples! They are SO yummy! We usually don't go until Oct, but Auntie Missy has never been at an Apple Farm or have taken picture of her kids at one. So we said we would tag a long especially since I knew the Honey Crisp Apples were available. Usually when we go they have a hay maze set up and few other things the kids can play on/with but they only had the animals to feed and later they had ponies you could ride on. So the boys were kinda sad when they didn't see the maze. Nicholas had fun feeding the donkey though! Jon wouldn't touch the food or the donkey and goats. He just wanted to watch. After that we decided to go pick some apples. Normally when we go there we just grab apples out of the bins they have in the store, but the boys really wanted to go out and pick our own. It was actually pretty fun. The Honey Crisp Apple Trees were really close and we didn't have to go far to pick them. We bought a 10# bag so we got plenty of apples! Hope you enjoy the pictures! Oh! Daddy stayed home with Marisa so no pictures of Marisa.

I love this one of Jon! Right before he picked it!

Nicholas had fun picking them out of the tree

Our big bag of apples! We tried to get as many apples in there as we could!

Jon thought he was a Ninja! (We just watched the Forbidden Kingdom with Jet Li and Jackie Chan)

Nicholas was trying to copy Noah and Gen when Auntie Missy was taking their picture. I thought he looked so cute!

Team Photos

This Saturday Jon had his individual and team pictures taken. The coach had a great idea about meeting early before the game and us parents & his wife taking pictures instead of paying an arm & a leg for a professional to take them. I thought it was a great idea! I print my own pictures out anyway! So here are the picture I took. Looks pretty good!

Too bad he wasn't looking at me....He was looking at the coaches wife who was taking pictures for everyone.

Best team picture I had.

I'm going on a trip!

So, I'm going on a trip to visit one of my college friends, Danielle Bailey at Martha's Vineyard. I bought my ticket on the 7th of Sept! I am actually going with two other college friends Sara and Helen. We are all traveling by ourselves but it will be great to spend time with each other and catch up. I will be taking the long route to Danielle's by flying into Boston and than taking the bus (1 hour bus ride) to the ferry and than taking the ferry (45 minute boat ride) onto the island. We will see how it goes! I hope my flights are not late but this was the cheapest way to get there so I don't mind. I will just read a book or maybe two! :) Danielle has her own children's clothing store on the island! The name of her store is Kiddo's. Her website address is http://www.kiddomv.com/. I have ordered some things from her store for Christmas a couple years ago for the boys and her things are SO cute! I have received some cute clothes for Marisa from her store too (Auntie Sara, Auntie Helen and Auntie Danielle all sent her clothes from the store!). All the outfits were/are my favorites. Since she grows so fast I tried to have her wear the outfits as much as possible. Here are some pictures of the outfits she received. I will have to make sure that I bring extra spending money so I can shop in her store! :)

This one she got from Auntie Sara. It is a size 3 months and she was wearing it right away. She didn't get to wear it long but she did wear it often. Whenever it was clean! :)

This one Marisa received from her Auntie Helen. It is made by the same designer as the outfit above. You can see the same colors. She can still fit into this one (size 6 - 12 months) but since it is starting to get cold out, she will not be able to wear it much longer.

This outfit she is wearing today (size 9 - 12 months) and she got this one from Auntie Danielle. TOO CUTE! I love the butterflies on the shirt and pants. The pants have a slit on the bottom of each leg too! So in fashion!

I can't wait to see you Danielle and see your store!

Updated Pictures of Marisa

Here are a couple of pictures I took of Marisa this morning. She slept in today, I am assuming because of her shots yesterday. I finally woke her up about 8:40am. She ate her bottle at 9 and now she is laying on her back on the floor with one of her musical toys playing above her. Lola and I went shopping yesterday at Kohl's because they were having a Baby Sale. I ended up getting her a bunch of 9 months clothes for the fall and winter. Yes, 9 months because she is a giant! Hopefully these will last her the whole season. Most of the clothes I have gotten from relatives are not the right size/season so I had to buy some clothes for her! Yippee! It was a lot of fun but kinda over whelming. There are a tons of clothes out there for girls! I love this shirt we got for her! She looks so cute in jeans too! Thanks Lola for the clothes!

I think she likes her new clothes too!

Some close ups.

She was totally giggling in this one!

Marisa is 4 Months!

Marisa turned 4 months yesterday! She had her 4 month check up this afternoon. Daddy took the day off to work on his fish house so he tagged a long. Here are her stats:

Height: 24 3/4 inches - 88th percentile

Weight: 16 lbs. 14 oz. - 98th percentile

Ofc: 16 3/4 inches - 90th percentile

Dr. Seifferman said that she is a big girl but looks really good and healthy. She got three shots today and boy did she get mad! I will update a picture of her soon!

Oh! I forgot to mention this too! She is starting to roll over from her belly to her back too! Lola got to see her do it yesterday. She was so surprised to see her do it. She had done it before a couple days ago too. Plus she loves to grab things now as well. She is growing up way too fast!

Marisa in her Jumperoo!

Marisa LOVES to sit in her Jumperoo! Well, technically it is not hers. We borrowed it from my friend Amy. Thanks Bjellos family for letting us borrow so many of your baby stuff! Any way, she loves jumping in it! Here is a video of her in it from the other day.

Jon's Soccer

So, Jon's first official soccer game was last Tuesday. He scored 3 goals that game! He has games every Tuesday night and Saturday mornings and practice on Wednesday nights. This past Saturday Papa and Grandma came up to watch his game. His game was at 9am and everyone was excited to watch him play. He did a really good job! We keep on telling him to be more aggressive and to try to take the ball away from the players from the opposite team. We told him to watch this one boy from the other team while he was sitting out one quarter and I think he kinda got it after watching him. Not everyone from his team had showed up so he got to play a lot on Saturday. For the 1st quarter he played defense and he did a good job keeping the ball on the other side of the line so his offense could score (if they are on offense or defense they can only be on either side of the mid line). The second quarter he played goalie and he did really good! No one scored a goal on him! The 3rd quarter he sat out and in the 4th quarter he played offense. He ended up scoring 2 goals this game! Below are some pictures from Saturdays game. Enjoy!

Right when we got to the field. He was starting to warm up!

He looks like a natural! Too bad Mike and I know nothing about soccer! :)

Jon's 1st Day of First Grade!

So today was Jon's 1st day of school! Last night after the spaghetti dinner the boys took a bath and was in bed by 7:30pm! Marisa was in bed by 8pm! I am so glad school has started! Mike was at Paul's house for his Fantasy Football draft and I was all alone! It was so great! I got to watch some TV in peace and finished up the laundry! Jon woke up at 7am and he ate his breakfast while I took a shower. After breakfast I told him to get ready for school and to brush his teeth. He was So excited to go to school! I took a couple pictures of him before we left for the bus. than he started to get goofy and make faces so I took those too! :) Than we got Marisa into the stroller and took a picture with her and we were off to the bus stop! We met the Welch's on the way up and when we got to the corner the bus was already there! It was a little early! Last year the bus was really late so I figured we would have time to hang out and I would be able to get more pictures but we didn't. I was a little sad :( It went so fast! :( Oh well! He is growing up too fast! Enjoy the pics!

He picked out his own outfit

His silly faces...

He looks like he is trying to fart in this one!

Posing with Marisa

Getting on the bus. The school changed bus companies this year. This bus was huge compared to last year!

Have fun Jon!

Annual Welch Spaghetti Dinner

Last night we went to the 3rd Annual Welch Spaghetti Dinner at our neighbor's house. It was a great celebration to the end of summer. I didn't get as many cute pictures that I did last year, but a got a few. Shawn did such a great job making the spaghetti sauces from scratch! he made two of them. One was a 3 meat spaghetti sauce with bacon, slow cooked pulled pork and sausage. The other one had green and black olives and some meat as well. I had the 3 meat one and it was SO good! He offered to give me the recipe but than that would mean I would have to make it myself so I declined! :) I brought cheesy bread and garlic bread, the Kerber's brought a salad, and the Corey's brought dessert. It was a good time and the kids enjoyed playing with each other on this last summer evening! Below are the pics!

All the little ones sat at the smaller table.

The bigger kids ate at the big table.

This is what Elsie looked like after she ate her spaghetti! This is the Welch's youngest.

There a cute smile!

My little one decided to take her nap while we all ate dinner
