Vali Hi Drive In

On Saturday night, Auntie Tesa and I took Jon, Nicholas, Maria and Bella to the Drive In! We hadn't been to the Drive in for a while. Last time we went was a couple years ago and I can't even remember what we watched! The movies that were showing were Ice Age 3, Night At The Museum 2, and The Hangover. We had Ashley come over to our house to watch Lorenzo and Marisa. We had dinner at about 5:30 and than we packed the truck up and headed out! The Drive In didn't open until 7pm but I knew that since it was a nice night that we would have to get there early to get a good spot. We told the kids that it would be a couple hours before the actual movie started so we brought along the boys DVD players, a bunch of snacks, and pillows and blankets! So we were all set! We arrived at the drive in to find a supper long line! And it was only 6:45pm! We actually got there at the right time because as soon as we got there, you should have seen how long the line got! As soon as we were able to drive in, we got a pretty good parking spot right next to the concession stand and bathrooms! As soon as we got there we set up the back of the truck so the kids could lay down with their pillow and blankets, while Tesa and I sat outside on chairs. As soon as we were settled we took a look around and there were a lot of people there that knew what they were doing. Behind us there was a group of guys that were part of a movie club and one of them brought patio furniture and another guy even brought a full size gas grill! I have seen people bring little charcoal grills before, but not a full gas grill! It was hilarious! Some people also brought air mattresses for the back of the car to lay on....We will have to do that next time! We ate a lot of snacks and the kids started to watch a movie on the DVD players. After awhile the kids were getting bored besides a couple of them who were glued to the DVD and they noticed that some people brought games to play. I had told the boys to bring their gloves and ball but they didn't want to get them. We will have to remember this next time as well! Any way, it was finally getting dark outside, and cold, so we had them settle back into the truck. It was about 9:30 when the movie finally started! They all did a really good job! I enjoyed it myself even though it got so cold out! Especially since it is $7.50 per adult and kids 12 and under are FREE! Didn't realize this! No wonder why there are so many people that go to the Drive In! We ended up staying for both Ice Age and Night At The Museum! We didn't get back to our house until 1:45, and the boys didn't get in bed until 2am! By far the latest they have stayed up! Here are a few pics! Enjoy!

All settled in back of the truck.

Another view of the truck.

Bells...She is just adorable!

Nicholas glued to the DVD player!

Jon took this picture of the sunset....

All the kids when Night Of The Museum was over....The only one who is really sleeping is Nicholas. The other ones are faking it!
